On iPhone in 2026, the Export Chat option is inside the chat itself, not in WhatsApp's Settings tab. • Outdated app version. Rare, but old WhatsApp builds occasionally show the option in a different position or hide it under "Chat" submenu labels rather than at the info screen's bottom. Update from the App Store.
• iCloud backup in progress. If WhatsApp is mid-backup, some actions (including export) can be temporarily disabled. Check Settings > Chats > Chat Backup for an in-progress indicator.
